Katherine and Schuyler’s Charlottesville wedding felt like a full-circle moment. They met at the University of Virginia, and the whole weekend was woven with memories of the place where it all began—and where her family has such deep roots. (Her parents are UVA alums, and her sister and brother-in-law were married there a few years ago.)
They kicked off the celebrations on Friday evening with a welcome party in one of UVA’s tucked-away gardens. It was simple and beautiful—surrounded by greenery and the people who know them best. Schuyler’s dad spoke, the weather was sunny and 65, and it set such a relaxed, happy tone for the rest of the weekend.
Saturday brought more sunshine for their ceremony at Saint Thomas Aquinas, just off campus. It was heartfelt and personal, with family and friends filling the pews. Afterward, everyone headed to Boar’s Head Resort, where cocktail hour overlooked the property and the hills beyond. The reception space came to life with colorful spring florals, candlelight, and the kind of energy that only comes from a packed dance floor and a really great band.
What I loved most was how natural it all felt—classic and meaningful but never too polished, filled with color, laughter, and the kind of joy that’s impossible to miss.
